Geroa offers great protection from NE winds and swell.  You can drive onto the beach up the Northern end to launch a boat or kayak.   From here you can fish for all your beach species of fish or paddle out a bit furher near the point and catch Snapper, mowong, salmon, bonito, kingfish, sharks and sometimes tuna.  The odd  Black Marlin sometimes snoops around this area as well when the warm water’s come usually late January to March.  The above photo was taken where  this arrow is pointing.
If you head further South along the beach towards Shoal Haven Heads there are some good gutters for beach fishing.

The above pictures are of the crooked river which comes out onto Seven mile beach just near where the boat launching area is.   This is a well protected river which is great for a nice relaxing fish or take the family on the kayak and just muck around.  You can get a feed of flathead, bream and whiting.  Whting are often caught near where the river comes out to the sea.   There’s always plenty of fresh yabbies at low tide in the river just West of the road bridge.

The point you can see in the far distance is Currarong.  It’s about 25 to 30kms away from Gerroa.   There are a few good reefs around like the one pictured above where the waves are breaking.  There’s often Black Drummer, black fish and salmon hanging around in the wash.  This is also a good area to catch squid.
